The Cross: represents the primary goal of the school of providing a positive Christian experience for our students.
The Book: has dual symbolism; it represents an open Bible as well as a common symbol used to represent education. In combination with the cross it symbolizes Okanagan Adventist Academy as a school committed to providing a vibrant Christian education and experience.
The Eagle: represents the school mascot that symbolizes our aim of providing a Christian education focussed on “Developing Purpose” and “Shaping Character” by challenging students to soar to the highest potential they are capable of. “Those who trust in the Lord . . . soar high on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31) and we “find our refuge in the shadow of God’s wings” (Ps. 36:7)
The Hills, Lake, Apples and Seagulls: these elements represent the beauty that is so often identified with the Okanagan region. The majesty of Lake Okanagan surrounded by lands containing beautiful orchards all encompassed by our mountains.
The Designer: our school logo was designed by Zoë (Reeves) McMullen. Okanagan Adventist Academy would like to thank Zoë for generously volunteering her time and expertise in providing us with our new logo. Zoë has 10 years experience in the British design industry and has recently worked at a design agency in the UK called Taxi Studio. She worked there for 2 and half years and was fortunate to work on some amazing projects, gaining experience working on packaging, brand identity and print. You can see some of her work on her website http://www.behance.net/zoejreeves
